www.newegg.com The Sony VAIO E-Series notebooks come in a wide variety of configurations; our sample model sported a 2.13 Ghz Intel Core i3 330M CPU, a 500GB 5400 RPM mechanical hard drive and a Blu-Ray combo drive for multimedia purposes. The E-Series holds up well as a mid-range laptop. The screen size, speedy CPU and Blu-Ray combo make it an ideal fit as a mobile multimedia machine. The dimensions and weight, while not as portable as a netbook, are still easily transported to class or work on a regular basis. The battery life was a bit lacking, but did play back a full-screen video for just over 3 hours — which isn’t too bad for a 15.5″ screen. Finally, customization and configuration options mean that there’s an E-Series to fit just about anyone. Whether you prefer AMD or Intel, or any variety of colors, there’s an E-Series that will suit your needs. Miniaturization, the science of making things smaller, has reached a whole new level. Hence, the geeks and nerds in Taiwan and Silicon Valley asked, “Well, the notebook is so big; it should be called a ledger. Why don’t we twiddle stuff a little bit and make a notebook that looks like a notebook?” Thus, the ultra portable netbook was born.
The first, and most recognizable, difference between a netbook and the notebook is the form factor or size. Netbooks are usually about 10 inches wide diagonally, while laptops are around 15 inches wide. In short, netbooks are vastly more portable than laptops because they can fit practically anywhere - a sizeable purse, a small backpack, the glove compartment of a car. This is the main selling point of netbooks.
If you will just slow down and take time to look around at all of the laptops or notebooks that are available, you’ll find that is time that is well spent. If you are like me, then you want to buy the best laptop for your specific needs that you can afford. The following is a list of things you might want to consider before you make your decision.
1. What kind of monitor do you like? Do you want the old-fashioned type that weighs about fifty pounds? I’ve found that the new LCD monitors which are crystal clear are well worth the extra expense.

| Review by K. LEE (PA, USA) 2010-04-22 The first impression is of attractive appearance. I never had any netbooks before, but this product from Sony is very satisfactory. The speed is acceptable. Yet, some people have argued with Windows 7 Starter Edition, but I would say is intended for light computing and surfing the web, and it does really a good job on these things. If you are looking f... Read more Sony VAIO VPC-W211AX/W reviews | ||

| Review by B. Family (Florida) 2010-02-18 This is the last model (W211AX) Netbook from Sony and has a battery life. While others may complain about the battery, I like the fact that elevates the netbook to you. Depending on the surfing you do, you can be a bit 'battery life unless you have advertised. I ordered the pink Vaio and could not be happier. It 'was all I... Read more Sony VAIO VPC-W121AX/T reviews | ||

| Review by Victor Bright (Bonny, Nigeria) 2010-03-14 Will only say what you do not like about this netbook: I bought this netbook as a gift for my wife, even though I had read reviews projection negeative especially bad battery. | Review by vin (USA) 2009-10-18 This netbook is definitely something we bought for many reasons. Why should it be a Sony. Secondly, it works well over wireless networks with the Playstation and the screen size and resolution is far higher than other netbooks on the market. There is certainly more expensive than other netbooks, but its value!... Read more Sony VAIO VPC-W111XX/P reviews | ||

| Review by Erik J. Mccullough (Austin, TX) 2010-06-06 I had read reviews of other media. I bought it because it is one of the few 10.1 "netbook with a 1366x768 resolution (instead of 1024x600 which is normal for this format). This intrigued me because the screen resolution means more than you go to a page. This is generally better browsing, word processing, etc. <... Read more Sony VAIO VPC-W211AX/L reviews | ||

| Review by Marc Mandelblatt (San Diego, California USA) 2010-07-28 Even if this netbook has great specifications, has serious drawbacks. On the positive side, has a large keypad, beautiful hi-res display, good build quality, new and faster CPU N470 and integrated Bluetooth. Unfortunately, some serious drawbacks, which were deal breakers for me. The biggest complaint is m... Read more Sony VAIO(R) VPCM121AX/P reviews | ||
