The HP Pavilion DV2-1030US 12.1-inch laptop is one of the first laptops in the market that uses the AMD Athlon Neo Processor (1.6GHz). It is AMD’s answer to Intel’s Atom processors. First of all, it is important to mention that the HP Pavilion DV2-1030US 12.1-inch laptop is actually a netbook on steroids. It very slim and small, measuring at 11.5 x 9.4 x 1.3 inches and weighs just 3.95 pounds. It has a black external casing and a glossy surface. Like many HP laptops, it has some swirl patterns near the track pad.
This model comes with 4GB of Ram and a huge 320GB hard disk. It also has a dual-layer DVD drive and wi-fi capabilities (802.11a/b/g/n). It uses Windows Vista Premium as its operating system. The HP Pavilion DV2-1030US 12.1-inch laptop is also a speedy little laptop for its class. It did pretty well in multitasking and running heavy applications like Photoshop.
Another great features on the HP Pavilion DV2-1030US 12.1-inch laptop would have to be its gorgeous 12.1-inch TFT screen. It has a 1280 x 800 resolution that is great for watching HD movies and HD gaming. Connectivity wise, it comes with 3 USB ports, a HDMI output, a headphone jack, microphone jack, an ExpressCard slot and a 5-in-1-card reader. It is also a very environmentally friendly laptop with Energy Star and EPEAT certifications.
There are many consumers out there who don’t really like the weight, size and price of regular laptops, as well as the limitations of a netbook. For that reason, the HP Pavilion DV2-1030US 12.1-inch budget laptop will serve as the perfect middle ground. At the time this article was written, it is on sale for around $700 each.
